The AP reports that a dozen casinos will open special parlors that will allow online betting beginning Nov. 26, after a five-day “soft play” period to work out the kinks.

The law is an attempt to bolster plunging betting revenues at Atlantic City casinos as people to choose to gamble closer to their homes in New York and Maryland. Last year, only $ 3 billion was generated by traditional gambling–down more than 40 percent since 2006.

Obviously, to play the new online games, gamblers have to be within New Jersey state lines. Several of the casinos in Atlantic City have teamed up with popular online gambling outlets, like jackpotjoy.com or bwin.party, to corral people inside. The anticipation is so hight that PokerStars, the world’s most popular gambling website, tried buying a casino earlier this year, but the deal fell apart.
