HOW DOES THIS WORK?

Q: How do we apply to pitch at Pitch Night?

A: You can signup to pitch at the event. No online registration required.

Q: What is the dress code?

A: Feel free to dress as you wish. Typically, there’s everything from very casual to highly professional and everything in-between.

Q: Does everyone that attends pitch?

A: No! Some are curious, some want to watch, some come to pitch, and some decide during the event to pitch!

GUEST SPEAKER

Join us May 1st as we welcome our special guest speaker Kelsey Falter to our group to talk with us about how her companies Markover, Inc. and Poptip came about.  Learn about the ins and outs of what it was like at TechStars and the process of getting funding and building her company.

The knowledge and understanding you gain from how other successful tech startups got started, got funded, and experienced growth – and how the product/service was targeted to specific markets – as a whole can be applied immediately in assessing your own startup ideas, plans, and strategies.

KELSEY FALTER

Founder, Markover, Inc.

Founder, CEO & Head of Product Development, Poptip, Poptip.com

Kelsey’s Poptip is a service for brands in which crowd generated data is gathered through the Twitter platform. “Tweet a question using Poptip. Your followers reply directly to your Tweet. Then Poptip aggregates & displays crowd responses.” Instant feedback – whether about a particular product or service or regarding the consumer satisfaction process – is what companies need to quickly adapt and change to meet or mitigate market trends, competitive actions, and customer wants and needs. Crowd generated data is also “useful to share with your team, friends, followers, and more.”

Having received her first domain name at the age of 8 and having taught herself how to code at the age of 9, Kelsey’s been designing and developing websites and starting and participating in building tech startups ever since. With her experience including TechStars, the #1 startup accelerator in the world, and with investors such as Lerer Ventures, Softbank, Techstars, RSE Ventures (Matt Higgins), David Tisch (Box Group), and others – Kelsey’s talk will undoubtedly provide some valuable insights for learning and building your own startups.

WHAT IS STARTUP PITCH NIGHT?

Startup Pitch Night provides the platform for early stage startups to practice and improve their startup pitch, gives startups anonymous peer-based feedback, and encourages trial and error without the requirement to apply and be accepted amongst a few to pitch – all within a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Startup Pitch Night is a vibrant and fun event with high variety, speed, and brevity at its core, coupled with a short talk on the next steps after the refinement of the pitch, from a startup industry leader.
