In honor of the one-year anniversary of the Mars Curiosity mission, Mattel is introducing a special-edition “Mars Explorer” Barbie, designed in cooperation with NASA and part of the company’s “I Can Be” line.

Don’t fret, though, traditionalists–her hair’s still flawless and her outfit’s still covered in pink flourishes. Wouldn’t want little girls getting too crazy, now would we?

“‘Ready to add her signature pink splash to the Red Planet,’ [the] Barbie doll is outfitted in a stylish spacesuit with pink reflective accents, helmet, space pack and signature pink space boots,’ Mattel wrote in a statement describing the new doll.”

In fact, this version is even more decked-out in pink than the original Astronaut Barbie released in 1965, at the height of the Space Race, which is a hell of a note. Then again, it’s nice to have gift-giving options more inspiring than .
